How to deposit USDC on Polymarket (step by step)

2026-07-04 · 2 min read

To trade on Polymarket you need USDC on the Polygon network in your Polymarket account. Here's the typical flow.

1. Create your Polymarket wallet

Sign up (email, Google or a browser wallet like MetaMask). Polymarket gives you a deposit address — the address that holds your funds.

2. Get USDC

Buy USDC on an exchange (Coinbase, Binance, etc.) or use one you already hold. The key detail: it must end up as USDC on Polygon, not Ethereum mainnet.

3. Send it to your deposit address

From your exchange or wallet, withdraw USDC to your Polymarket deposit address, choosing the Polygon network. Double-check the network — sending on the wrong chain is the most common way people lose funds.

How much do you need?

The minimum order on Polymarket is roughly $1, and short-term "sniper" strategies place orders of a few dollars each. You can start with ~$10 to test with real money at low risk, but a couple hundred makes position sizing more meaningful. Never deposit more than you can afford to lose.
